Privacy Policy for Ausis
Last Updated: December 6, 2025
The Ausis extension ("we," "our," or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy
Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome Extension.
1. Information We Collect
A. User-Provided Content
- Audio Files: We collect audio/video files that you explicitly upload for transcription.
- Voluntary Input: We process the files you provide solely for the purpose of generating
transcriptions, summaries, and meeting protocols.
B. Usage Data
- Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data (e.g., number of
transcriptions, errors, file types). This helps us improve the stability and performance of the extension.
We do not track specific user identities or sensitive content.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Transcription Service: Your audio files are securely transmitted to our backend server and
then to Google's Gemini API for processing.
- Data Handling: Audio files are processed in memory and are not permanently
stored on our servers. They are discarded immediately after transcription is complete.
- Service Improvement: Anonymous analytics are analyzed to fix bugs and optimize features.
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
- Google Gemini: We use Google's Generative AI models to perform the transcription. By using
this extension, you acknowledge that your audio data is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and Generative AI Terms.
- Google Analytics: We share anonymous usage statistics with Google Analytics.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others.
4. Data Security
- Encryption: All data transmission between the extension, our backend, and Google's APIs
happens over secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
- No Retention: We do not store your audio files or transcriptions on our servers.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Stop using the service at any time.
- Uninstall the extension to remove all local data (project history is stored locally on your device).
